Educational Technology and Copyright Law

  • Copyright is a Federal law that protects original "works of authorship".
  • If anyone draws something or hums a tune, it's automatically copy righted. No paper work no nothing.
  • If someone has a licensed image and you decide to use it, you have to give credit to the person who made/created it.
  • There are fair uses of this law. If someone saw a picture of your doodle and decides to use it in the class room for teaching purposes then they are allowed to use it.
  • Can you use images? Check if it has a license. If it is on the internet it's most likely ok to use the photo.
  • Always give credit to the creator/source.
